2006-08-14p04`Kathie Johnstone may now Speak Freely'Bill.Bolton From a letter(3) by Alan Fircloth in the Marietta Daily Journal on August, 13 2006, Alan responds about the boards tarnished image. Alan states: "What the board needs to realize is that they have only themselves to blame. ... despite repeated criticism and rejection from the public and the legal system." For the legal system, he is referring to the case represented by Roy Barnes, which was a case of equity not law. For the public, Kathie Johnstone, after her defeat for re-election, may be able to speak more freely. So having her speak at NOW could be important, especially on the issue of separation of church and state, which she and her opponent espoused and for which I never hear publicly from a Democrats. Are the Republicans more JJ-Nation(1) than the Democrats in spite of President Bush, a Republican, being the leader of the GOD-Nation(2)? You being an officer of Georgia NOW and having gone to Washington DC for NOW training, adds credibility to the need to look into the Johnstone situation. I actually cannot talk with Johnstone, because I am the Plaintiff of a laptop lawsuit against the Cobb school board. The lawsuit is in a strange state where I tenuously have the "ball" in a several month extension. But I sure can attend the meeting and listen. Consequently, would someone please try to contact Johnstone. Maybe through the school board. Thanks Bill ###### 2006-08-13p07`Johnstone a good idea, good idea'Irene Yes, I think it would be a good idea - I have no information on her at all. Irene ###### 2006-08-09p04`Johnstone Down to 25%'Bill Cobb County Board of Education, Post 6, Republican runoff results: Johnstone 25%, Crooks 75%. I think there is so much more to this story. If the laptop computers had been implemented, they may have been a tremendous value to the students. From a NOW point of view, it might be good to invite Kathie Johnstone to speak to the group. Any thoughts? Bill ###### 2006-08-08a09`Cobb Laptops, Johnstone, Crooks, Farokhi'Bill The Republican runoff between school board members Johnstone and Crooks in district 6 is occurring now. Its outcome will affect Democrat Farokhi in November. Because, voting is light, some outside influence might affect the election in District 6. Overall, I have been working on the Cobb County laptop computer case for about a year and due to demurs, the case is still lingering. A side issue exists however. The leader of the laptop project, Kathie Johnstone, is up for school board re-elections in district 6. She is a Republican in a runoff, August 8, 2006, against Reverend Crooks of the Roswell Baptist Church. Either Johnstone or Crooks will run against Beth Farokhi, Democrat, in November. For Farokhi, if Crooks wins, she will be running against not just a Republican but the Republican GOD-Nation. GOD stands for Global Ordained Denominations. The GOD-Nation wants to take over the world and is symbolically headed by President Bush. Crooks is from the Roswell Street Baptist Church that was once led by locally famous Nelson Price who writes in the editorial section of the Marietta Daily Journal and keeps claiming the Declaration of Independence is our constitution in an effort to justify that we should be a GOD-Nation. It makes one wonder if Crooks is of the same mindset as his church. Women have an interest in this because women's rights are obliterated when the GOD-Nation takes over -- abortion, gay marriage, etc. So, if you see some way to help Johnstone, please help, in spite of the few hours of voting left.
